I have a Bucks Bags and love it. It's almost a nice as my Lazyboy, and I did fall asleep in it once to be woken up by my reel screaming. I've used the Fishcat before and I didn't' find it as comfortable for me as I the back didn't feel that great (I am over 6' tall), but I did love how fast you could move around the lake with that thing.

Get a U/V boat and not a donut, they are a pain to get out of!

I had an outcast prowler float tube but moved into a pontoon boat because of the oar option when the legs get tired or the wind kicks up. A plus for the float tube is the wind doesnt turn you sideways like it does with a pontoon boat. I also just bought a bucksbag hi and dri 2 belly boat for those walk in lakes. I have never been in one, but am looking forward to the experience. Look for me on pike mountain. I'll be the guy with his feet sticking straight up in the air, head in the water.

There is a lot to be said for float tubes. I was always using pontoon boats but like you say the wind was becoming a real pain on waters with even moderate winds. The float tube seems to hold up much better!

I've been using an Outcast Superfatcat DLX. It's great to fish out of and can hold it's own when the wind picks up. However, as of late I've been looking into upgrading to a Water Master. They pack up into a backpack phenomenally, I can still have the option of using my fins with them on the lakes, along with the oars, and it just opens up a whole new can of worms when it comes to beach/river fishing out here.

That being said... Anyone looking to purchase a new float tube on the island ?

I've also been checking out the Water Master. Very stable , versatile watercraft that works well on stillwaters as well as rivers. Pricey, but very well built and arguably the best tube boat built for fly fishing. Time to start saving.

Saw one on e-bay that was going cheap and it was new.
None that I know of come new with a tire inner tube. You must go out and get one separately. Head to a tire shop and you should be able to pick up a used tube for under $15.

My new bucks bag hi and dri is also an innertube.Unless i can find some sort of valve release attachment though, i may never let the air out of it as will take too long. Maybe Lordco.
