Default Beulah Long Belly Spey Line

Has anyone out there had the opportunity to cast these lines by chance? Noticed on their website that the heads are a touch longer than the current mid-to-longish heads offered by some of the other companies. Made the mistake of purchasing a Skagit line and am looking forward to taking it off my reel, soon. I know there are a couple of "cats" out there that know Beulah's products so you're input and opinions are most welcome.
    Thanks.
Oh ya, anyone want to buy a Rio 650 grain Skagit Line? Got the cheaters too (8,9,10 wt).

Beulah doesn't have any long belly lines...the longest bellies they have are on their Elixir Lines that are absolutely sweet...in both the Switch and Spey ranges. The Elixirs need to be coupled with Polytips while the Tonic heads can be coupled with either regular Tips or Polytips. What I see from your post is an 8/9 Elixir will do well..it is 36' and rated about 520 grains...the tapers are so much nicer than a Skagit line/head...if you are into developeing great loops and listance then this is the way to go..but these lines will not pick up BIG HEAVY FLIES...I mean big...the only lines that will do that are the Tonic or Skagit type lines...

FYI...I fish the Elixir likely about 75% of the time off the beaches and rivers!

Mmmmmm. Good info, thanks. Looked on their site and got my info from there. They listed a spey line with a 650 grain weight and a 75' head. Kind of right up my alley! I don't really chuck the big weighted flies ever, nor do I throw anything heavier than a 14' type 8 tip, so turnover and the other issues related to those methods are a moot point for myself. The other thing that drew me in was that the line was white. I have a soft spot for white lines as one of my all-time favourites was a Royal Wulff that I cut back a bit and threw a tip on. Might see about that one too......................
    Cheers!

Beulah actually did have long belly lines at one time , and I have one to prove it . But, I think that they may have really been re-badged Airflo Traditional lines . Mine is white , has a total length of about 140 ft , has a sweet , thin integrated running line , and casts beautifully .

I got mine off ebay when Beulah was just starting to set up shop here in N.A . Paid 20 bucks for it . Like many of the U.K lines though , it was rated heavier than it actually is . Mine is an 8/9 , and it was a little light on my Scott ARC 1509 , but matches up nicely with my 14'3" CND Solstice .

If you are interested in longer belly lines you should give the CND GPS lines a look. The 8/9 GPS is 70' and 671 gr. GPS lines (except for the 4/5) are factory looped to make using tips easy. There are fair number of guys with them up here so I am sure that some can pipe in with opinions (so as not to sound like and ad from me). You can get more info here http://www.cndspeyusa.com/Pages/gpslines.html

Good tip K, thanks. Kind of heard that the CND lines match better specifically to their rods, never gave them a second thought.

I have a 9/10 CND GPS line that I love on my Burkie . I need to get a 7/8 for my Solstice .

    Great lines .
