    Default Trophy Lakes

Can anyone provide a concise list of trophy lakes in the Kamloops area that might be fishing well late May?? Been wanting to go up that way for many years and may have an opportunity. Prefer water suitable to tube or canoe (i.e.: not too large). Thx in advance...

Late May is a great time of year to experience the Kamloops area. It depends what you consider a (trophy) lake. There are many lakes that house very large trout, ie Peterhope, Roche, Knouf, Island, etc, etc. The list can go on and on. There are also many lakes that can provide consistant action. I would say your best bet is to pick up a copy of the Thompsan Okanagan Backroad mapbook! It can provide you with very good info on lake size, accessability, average size fish, best method, as well as camping or facility info. That book is my bible! I am sure I could say the same for many others as well! Good luck!

thank you... I guess by "trophy", I'm talking size (of fish, not lake) as opposed to volume. And I certainly have no need to kill anything...will take your advice into consideration. Again, Thanks....

Pass Lake might be of interest to you. It is a managed trophy lake that has produced rainbows up to 10lbs in the past. It is a fairly small body of water that can be quite challenging to fish. You can find it up on the Lac Du Bois road that you can access through Bachelor Heights.

There is a small lake just off Hwy 5A near the coq connector called Kid lake. It use to be a great lake to fish, and was a "trophy" lake in that it was catch and release only. Have not been there in years so I can't say what it's like anymore.

It's near Kentucky/Alleyne lakes if that helps. But this is in the Merrit area, not Kamloops.

There is also several small lakes just north of Face/Paska lakes that produce some good size fish. Stop in at Milehigh at Face lake, they have a decent little map of the area.
