    Thumbs down Yancy System

Fished the fly in Oregon for steelies back in the 90s with limited success using a system I was shown by Jim Teeny...not really successful as it wasn't much fun heaving the system into the river.

Came upon a new system this past winter from Dennis Dickson of Streamsideflyshops.com. Dennis is a well known guide in Washington and has some great innovations for hooking up steelies on the fly.

I gave his Yancy System a go this past winter on the Stamp and Gold...just a great system that you can actually CAST not HEAVE with a single handed fly rod. Had some good success later in the Feb and early March.

Suggest is warrants a look at streamsideflyshop.com.
