Default Vedder on the Fly for Saturday

What is the likely hood the river will be in any shape for fly fishing on the weekend? Any reports on the river out there?

if it doesn't rain to much and if the weather isn't too hot then it might be in shape by the weekend

If I didn't have more pressing things to do I would have fished it today! It's just about fishable, I've caught them in worse conditions recently and have a renewed confidence! I have to work Saturday but hope to fish it tommorow and Friday, I'll let you know.

Well, gave it a go for a couple hours yesterday. The color wasn't too bad but the level was way up from when I was hooking fish earlier. Had to try new water, No touches so I went up the Lillooet today instead!

Hey Eric, Thanks for the info. I'll probably head up early tomorrow morning to give it one last go before the flood waters hit.

    Cheers.

Some good news to report back from the Vedder River. I managed to drag my a$$ out of bed at 530am and was fishing the river by 7am. The water level was normal and comparable to the month of April and the clarity was good, probably 4-5 feet. I fished the Yaro side of the river from Vedder crossing to the campground. Some good water, almost a little to fast for fly fishing...or the sinking lines I have.

Just down from the bridge on my fifth cast I was into a nice 9lb Dolly Varden which was carefully recycled back into the river. That is the biggest Dolly I've caught and at that size they have a funny blunt nose, kinda ugly looking. Sorry Dolly.

After that I didn't touch another fish....not to say they aren't there.

If the weather holds there are plenty of good days left in the season.

I was out yesterday afternoon as well...Managed a brief hookup, but was too asleep at the wheel. Went back to the same run this evening, but no luck. I thaught for sure it would've been the day, as the fish seemed pretty frisky rolling once the sun went down.

Well..... all good things must come to an end! She's done, and probably will be for the rest of the season! Glad I got the oppurtunities that I did though! I still love this river, no matter what anyone says.
