Well, a day late and a dollar short! Falls in line with my favourite response at Tunkwa when someone complains about poor fishing, " oh man, you shoulda been here yesterday!"This was on the sister site yesterday. http://www.bcfishingreports.com/foru...741#post123741
morgan you say? i've heard about that one. i'd like to give it a shot. would it be a gong show this time of year with all the house bound fishermen heading out?
It will be a gong show daily until the ice comes off Jacko! Two years ago, April 1st, 15 trucks which doesn't come close to Jacko's April record of 65 trucks!
Does Jacko really get that pounded ??? I was thinking of trying that lake out this year for the first time but i think i might stay away if its going to be like that. I am planning to head up to Morgan next weekend perhaps, trying to get a group of us together to cut gas costs![]()
I think the pressure will die down on Jacko now that lakes are open as soon as the ice is gone. It used to get pounded in April because nothing else was open. Despite the pressure you can't pass up on Jacko as it is easy access and is an awesome chironomid lake with beautiful structure and some large 'bows!
I agree totally with John. Jacko gets some early pressure, but there are so many lakes in the area, once they are all open, Jacko is just another one of many. It is close to Kamloops (20 minutes) so it draws a good number of guys in the evening (an after-work destination) but from 9 to 5, you can often find only 2 or 3 other anglers on the lake. The fishing can be moody at times, but the possibility of a 5 lb+ fish is there on every cast. It is one of the few lake I will fish scud patterns (I just don't have confidence in them, or my abilities with them) 'cause the lake is packed with them, and they are a preferred food item, i have found. Don't pass Jacko up if you have a chance to fish it.
