Prospect Lake in Vic?

My brother in law is in town and wants to go fishing. He has heard prospect lake is good right now.

Can anybody comment? I would prefer to go to Elk lake but I have nothing to back that up with.

Island Outfitters is reporting that all lakes are slow right now and it makes sense. If you're headed out, I'd try Elk/Beaver first but that's just a personal preferance of mine. As usual, leeches near the weedbeds and chronies further out.

I've never fished Prospect so I couldn't tell you much about it. I'm headed down on Sunday and looking for someone to hook up with if you've got room.

I should be there before noon (probably around 11). Driving down from Courtenay so by the time I drop off the wife/kids I could meet you by 1pm at the latest, if that's good for you?

Are you boating or wading?

I will be boating, ended up getting a canoe over a float tube as more fitting for the whole family. My brother in law has a float tube and a pontoon so him and his dad will use those.

1 pm is fine, I will check with them to make sure.

Hey, I've had good luck at Durrance lately, but they are all small, about 10-13 inchers. But once the bite is on, you can catch about a doxen in an hour.
I just got me a boat too, and I wish I was around Sunday, unfortunately I will be on a lake all day taking invert samples - no fishing......

However, let me know where you are planning, because you never know....

Sandman, I will post here where we are going to try on sunday in case you are able to take a break. Me, brother and father in law are going to Prospect Lake thursday after work so we will see how that goes as well.

Hey Diggity, when you post where you're going to be fishing, can you shoot me a PM at the same time so I get it by email (on my phone). That way I'll just drop off the family and head straight to the water. I don't want to delay the festivities

Sure thing warrior. We went to prospect lake tonight and bugs galore and fish jumping like crazy, so I imagine the brother-in-law will want to be going back there.
