Default fish finder for float tube

I have a fish cat float tube and want to put a fish finder on it and what was looking for opinions on which ones would be best. I have a few in mind but was just wondering what others would use. Thanks

I used a Fish Buddy model for the longest time, and found it pretty good for marking depth. Now I have the Eagle Kuda 250 which works even better, and is more portable. A great addition for my pontoon.

You woudn't happen to have a photo of how you have rigged that up would you. I am thinking of doing the same to my pontoon in the coming weeks?

    I have this one: http://www.zebco.com/products/fishfinder.html
I find it works well but more to be used as a depth locator. It does mark fish, but I am not sure to what accuracy. Its cheap, hangs around your neck or tucks into a pocket. The you can have the sonar thing just float right beside your tube. I clip mine right to the side of the tube with a caribeener. Works for me with no complaints. Compact and no big batteries to haul around. I love it. Herbies here in Kamloops sells them for 75 bucks, but I have seen them at most other fishing shops for about 100.

I just recently bought the Hummingbird RF 30. It's the fishfinder that you're supposed to cast out and the receiver is on your wrist, like a watch. I found it great to use, and did a great job at marking depth. The actual fish ID worked well too, as I got a couple on my line right after passing over. Great stuff. Canadian Tire $100. Great because there's no bulky screen to haul around. It's just a watch.

I picked up a Humminbird Piranha Max 215 for my pontoon boat. A little overboard but a wicked little fishfinder. I blew my Canadian Tire maoney wad for it so it wasnt too much of a sting. Accessories and mounting kits for it are a little tricky to find so I had to improvise with some straps, duct tap and cable ties, but works in the end.

I just got a Cuda 168 for my boat. It has a sweet little case for the batteries (8 AA) that opens. I filed two slots in the sides and ran a strap through the box and around the pontoon. The slots are wider than the strap to allow for the unit to be angled towards the angler. The transponder is attached by a suction cup to the bottom of the pontoon. Overall I am very pleased with the finder.

    Default Retrofit Bracket

I have the same Cuda 168 as Professori.

The only thing that I can improve on his setup is that the suction cup will fail on the rougher surface on my pontoon! So I made a groove in the plastic mounting bracket that comes with the swivel and did not use the rubber suction cup. The groove was 1/8 inch wide by 1' long in both sides of the bracket. Bought a 1 inch webbing strap and put it through the bracket and around the pontoon with 3/4 full of air. Then after snugging the pull strap I finish pumping up the pontoon.
This has never failed me yet. I made the hole simply with a 1/8 inch drill bit and pushed it through the plastic sideways, after it gets hot it cuts great. The other thing about this Cuda 168 is that I bought it at Ukrainian Tire for $168 and it has all the bells and whistles. Fish finder works great!!!!!

The depth to fish is worth the $$$ because if your not hooking fish your only playing with string...
