
One other application of the dubbng loop. When I am making up an abdomen on a mayfly for example, I use a fiine dubbing like Scintilla. when twisted tight in a loop, it makes for a tighter, smoother abdomen than you can achieve with merely twisting on dubbing. It also allows you to wrap the dubbed abdomen and there is a natural segmented look to it. Like John, I seldom use dubbing wax, and if I do, it is very sparingly and only on my fingers to give some grip to them when spinning hard dubbing like seal fur.
