Fishing Report for February 2, 2010
Ice fishing.
What a great way to get out and enjoy the tranquility of nature in the winter.
Because that is all a buddy and I did on Sunday up at Dardenelles.
12 holes and several baits later, the fish gods did not smile upon us.
It was great afternoon out though, the old cliché.
We did observe a couple of deer on the way in and the ravens were definitely checking us out as they flew over.
Walloper has been great for smaller pan size trout on V V W’s. That would be Valley View Worms Alyson brought that she dug up with her dad last fall.
Small worms were the ticket for us that day. Shrimp being second.
Harmon is letting folks go home with a few respectable fish as well.
It looks like next year I am going to have to get out more so I can let you know how things are going. Seems most ice fishers are very tight lipped. “ Got some nice ones up at Zippermouth Lake.”
Tune in next week for the continuing saga………..
P.S. don’t forget to mark your ice fishing holes when you leave.

What's that bloodworm type Berkley bait? Is it Trigger X? Don't know, don't icefish but Dardanelles has a great chironomid population and I would think that bait would be great in deep water.
That would be the GULP Angleworms I believe.
I meant to bring some but forgot.
Maybe next year.
er time.
