Couldnt you just use any old plastic bag as the material? What's so special about the anit-static bag?

I think the anti static bag has some unique reflective properties that for some reason seems to work really well for chronies. I'd like to join this swap but I think the due date is too early for me. If I can manage to get some anti static bag soon enough I'm in. I'll keep you posted.
    Thanks

Anti-static bags are composed of several different layers fused into one. one of the inner layers is typically a microscopically thin aluminum film, which is translucent and reflective. Here is a great site to obtain as many anti-static bags as you will ever need at a very low price. http://www.uline.ca/BL_51/Static-Shi...-Bags-Open-End The closest thing to anti-static bag I have found is gunmetal krystal flash.

I've added an additional week for guys, should ease the pressure a bit. Thanks for the suggestion John. If someone wants to join the swap but has no ASB strips, let me know and I can mail you some.

BeadHead - I added a week to the due dates, confirm if this new timeline works for you. Thanks!

Yes, this might help getting a full crowd! In the past I would leave them open till it was close to full, then put a deadline to close it. I might get in on this one

I'd like to get in on this one too!

I've got plenty of chronies so I wont be such a stress case to get the flies ASAP like other swaps I've been in, but I dont have any ASB. I'll ask at a computer store, but if someone wants to mail me some I'd appreciate it.

I'll probably do a size 14 red tag, red rib, green body. I dont have any of the hooks recommended, but if I absolutely need to I can pick some up, let me know if I need to.

    Thanks!

Point taken guys. I've never organized a swap before, and didn't want this to drag on. But I'm completely open to leaving it open for a month or so to let people chew on it and get them in.

Roughing minor is in too. With Rick and Beadhead still thinking on it, we could have a full bunch here pretty quick!

    Default anti-static swap

i went and pick up some anti-static bags today.
is it better to add the piece of anti-static bag before or after the rib wrap?
