    Default aprils here

things are good in the lakes here still....waiting for the few nice days to warm it up a bit and then it can rain and be cloudy. Its cold out and colder in the outback.April was hot last year ....and so was May. we got 3 fish just under, and over 20 lb in may and april last year.flyfisher 3000 had one to the boat side,we stood there looking at it in aww when it spit the fly ,and back down she went.i got a 22 lb fish in the river on a gold bead head on a brown wooly, with black rubber legs. i was with deb paskall from the lower main land.i landed it in the lake 20 minits laterdown the shore. fishing is still good if you can get out in a boat between storms.its been real windy. cutty fishing is good the big guys are headed back to there depths soon.this will open up lots of water for the smaller fish that i think tend to avoid the bigger fish. they will be in large numbers all summer ,smashing drys and chaseing bait fish .
Rainbows can be found all over on shallow sholes around lois. and the rest of the system.
I find that the purple leach and the olive ,goldbead headed wooly are working the best. The ice will be off the high elivation lakes soon and those fish are hungry when it does.(end of april-mid may) all lower lakes are ice free and fishing well. guys are croni fishing at cranberry and hiting big numbers of small fish, makes for a grate afternoon float ,or the kids have a blast. joe hit some cutthroat on cronies when i was gone and he and his bro stayed at the still water house. he pumped them and said they were full!
if anyone is ichen for some still water????? lets go lay out a few lines.
send me a pm if you got time to drift though these waters.its not that far guys.

Since touring the Sunshine Coast area several years ago and hearing about the large cutties in some of your lakes, I have had an overwhelming desire too fish for them....As I will be in the Campbell River area in early June, I was wondering if a ferry trip to Powell River would be worth while?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
