Default (NFR) Well a little bit.

So I was out on saturday up on the Harrison.
We got three for the afternoon.
Very windy, tough to cast just about anywhere.
Getting a little bored I challenged myself and my boat to the limits of ability.
On the way up in a back chanell I sucked a couple of rocks into the grate on the pump. No biggee. The guy who went down after he saw that I made it up didn't do as well.
    No hesitation.
Then on the way down I decided that maybe I could make it down the Chehalis back channels where you sneak in between the dolphins..
Now that was down right James Bond.
Sliding around corners to keep the pump in the water, front of the boat over the gravel bar.. Yee Hawww.
My scow is 6' across the gunnels and at times the channels were no more than 8'.
I highly recommend this to make sure your heart still works.
    My buddies does.
Oh ya, did I mention we almost made it all the way back to the Harrison.
When the bow touched gravel I shut er down.
2" of water just isn't quite enough.
We dragged it about 20 yards, picked out a few rocks, fired it up and off we went.
    A gleat day.

    Cool little story.
What kind of boat is that & what kind of power are you running?
I have a 1648m Jon boat with a custom made side console & a Johnson 35hp at the pump.
I can't really tell by your avtar but my boat is around the same size & I know what you mean about running skinny water with these things. Also love the fact that these boats can be dragged across a gravel bar whe the the water runs out.
Sounds like you guys had a blast.

    Default Same boat?

    Hey Rookie.
My boat is a 1648 smokercraft.
At least in its previous life it was.
It now has a tunnel etc. etc.
    I am running a merc 70 hp.
Probably about 45+ at the pump.
    Great little boat.

    Default Boats good

Maybe we should get all the FFBC boats together for a day.
A great way to see how other guys are setting up their rigs.
There is always a better way to do things.
I always like new ideas for the boat.
Perhaps when it gets nicer out we could do a family B.B.Q. day or something.

    I'd be in for that.
    Let's keep that option open.
