Love that tree! Really imaginitive! Good one lucky!
had a chuckle over your tree Lucky..but..where is the glowing star up top..real neat creation...AW
hey that is a great creation ! I have been tying Christmas and Easter flies for a few years , even mailed one to my brother-in-law in Montreal.
Its fun to get real creative and with all that glittery and colourful stuff in the kit, there is no end to what one can create !
The tree you made should be on the News for all to see !! Especially the kids !
Love it !:yeah:
Here's one that should work for coho.
Body: Silver,blue and red tinsel
Wings: Red, silver and blue mylar ripple flash.

Here is my contribution, a "Strange Christmas tree". I think the original comes from Denmark and is used for searun trout. The original has a strip of grey seal skin but I thought a coho might prefer green (and it was more christmassy).
Hook: Tiemco 7999, size 6
Thread: Uni thread, red, 3/0
Body: Pearl mylar tube, frayed at both ends.
Wing: Green rabbit
Eyes: Silver chain.
Tie in the thread, run it down to the bend.
Slip on the tube, tie it down at bend.
Tie in wing and whip finish.
Tie in thread at head, tie in eyes, tie back beard, tie in wing, build head and whip finish.

tangler can i offer one tip ?
when you tie in rabbit zonkers as wings. try seperating the fibres and lay the thread between them onto the hide itself, this will sort of hide the thread and will also allow the fur to be free for maximum movement instead of trapped under the tying thread.
other then that one thing its a very nice tie. I would be tossing that at pinks & coho for sure![]()
Thanks 24_7. All tips are welcome (especially the cash ones...).
Bit of a sloppy tie for sure. I also doubled over the strip at the head (read that somewhere) which is why it is a bit bulky. Live and learn.
may I make a suggestion...when you tie down the front of the zonker strip...you can do what I do and that is put a few drops of ..Zap-a-Gap..on the thread, that will bind it up nicely........AW
