Default is it vinyl or urethane?

Is there an easy way to tell a vinyl bladder from urethane?
I'm trying to figure out what I have:

It feels quite pliable, but I don't have much to compare it with.

I'm not sure how to tell them apart - does it matter much?

You have an Outcast boat. Go to their website aqnd I am pretty sure you will find that Outcast uses vinyl for their bladders. As btree says tho', what difference does it make? http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin...gi?post=434126
If your outer skin is in good shape, that will take all the pressure and your bladder will just hold the air (at around 2-3 psi). The weight difference is negligible as well.

The reason I'm interested is I'm trying to figure out exactly what boat I have. It seems to have the characteristics of a PAC 800 moreso than the Discovery, going by what I've been able to find online.... obviously info gets a little hazier to find when you're dealing with a 4 year old boat.

Discoverys use vinyl, PACs have urethane. So the only reason it matters is it would tell me what I have - nothing more.

My thoughts are that vinyl is cheaper and is sufficient for tubes and toons.
I guess urethane is more expensive and somewhat more durable from a marketing / sales point of view .

Discoverys have 1 bladder per pontoon, PACs have 2 (and 2 valves per pontoon) if memory serves.

I believe at least the 800 and 900 have 1 per, unless I'm reading their website wrong.

Yeah, I just checked their site. Looks like the 1100 is the only 2 bladder boat. My bad!!

Curiosity got the better of me today. I took my laptop out to Sea Run and asked one of the guys working there if he could ID a 4 year old boat. He said sure, so I showed him a few pics. He said it's not a Discovery, it's a PAC boat for sure.

    Apparently I have lucked out...
