My .02 Douglas Lake is great, I've never fished Corbett, but heard that is good as well. I believe there are some excellent opportunities of the Coq if they're open that time of year. Enjoy the trip!
You can find me hiding in the bush somewhere between Merritt and Kamloops from May 20th to June 10th. See ya there.........or not!
OOPS, my bad!

TP,
Roche Lake is a great lake to fish at for your trip to the Kamloops and merrit area. I know my first time in that area was 3 years ago, and go back every year for a couple trips. I used a local guide Ray Lofgren who was great. He fishes mainly out of Roche lake, but in 1 day im sure could show you a great time on Roche lake as well as prepare you for the other lakes on your own.

This is a great area to fish in, you are going to have a blast.
I recomend if your planning to use a guide you get in touch with Ray, I had a great time, and learned a ton from him.
He also offers a 25% discount if your staying at the Roche lake lodge, which helps in keeping the cost down.
Good luck.
Jeff

He has been guiding for over 20 years in the area, mostly on a referral basis. Hes a bit old school, he just recently put together a website. I know he doesnt guide full time, but would like to start too.
Im not his advertising. Just a supporter.

lac le jeune is a good one, you have to remember it gets hot up here that time of year. high elevation lakes are the key. Gordon Honey lives at Lac le Jeune, i believe and he was a guide in the Kamloops area.Duffy lake , Dairy lake is up there too!! good luck..
I don't believe high elevation is as much a key in mid-June as it would be mid-July. It's not so much about air temperature as it is about water temperature and May weather conditions will play a part in that. Other factors are spring run-off and snowpack from the previous winter. Lower elevation lakes are usually getting the whole range of hatches in June, e.g., damsels, callibaetis, chironomids and traveller sedges in the second half of the month.
There are many guides to choose from in Kamloops and the outlying areas.
