Default Ya!! Late fall fly fishin!

Lets start of with Im missing my home town of kamloops. But just to let you all know...
At this time of year down there for all you kamloopians,
I usually fish anywhere close to vegetation, structures, and what have you.
This, OBVIOUSLY, is where all the food is. I mite be going to mike lake this weekend to try my luck there.
But, the flys for definate choice are size 16 scud patterns. Best days on the water.
Any other lakes a guy could fish down here?
Fly fishing has ruined my life

give Jones Lake up towards Hope a try. it's a beauitful lake and has decent fish in it. average size is 12 - 16 inches, but i've seen some much larger ones pulled out. minnow patterns seem to work pretty well.

as a side note, Jones is the only lake in the valley i fish. i hate it down here, and Jones is the only lake that has surroundings nice enough i don't get depressed.

It has been a loooong time since I lived in the Lower Rainland but two lakes I loved to fish were Morgan, up past Sayers (Cedar) as you had to drag a tube or pontoon a hundred yds. up a dry creekbed and a small lake in the hills behind Kakawa called Squeah for some above average cutties.

Weaver is a classic favorite, and they've been stocking with triploids for a few years so the size has jumped from 8 inches, to about 12-14 inches average. Give it a shot. For a coastal lake, its a good one.

Love the late fall trout fishing! Anyone know whether the interior lakes are icing over yet? I am thinking of heading up towards Princeton on the weekend.

If it's ice fishing your looking to do.... I think you better wait awhile. We need a real good cold snap first.

    Elevation is also the consideration.

I think he's looking for open water and wants to know where to avoid going (ice).

It was indeed open water that I was looking for. Sorry, should have clarified.
