Oct 3 we set out for the Northwest part of Willston Lake going in at Mackenzie.
There were two groups of us with 2 shared hunts and we could take a total of 4 big bulls.
At first there was nothing to be found, not even fresh tracks.
On Tuesday two guys spotted and called in from over a km a 40in. bull and got him. (5pts X 7pts)
On Wednesday two guys in a dry swamp were approached by a fair sized black bear that wouldn't stop comin. So they stopped him.
Thursday, we spotted a small bull on the other side of our valley. After getting there we looked around for a while and nothing.
We drove up the valley, after several hours of glassing and calling we came back in towards camp. We stopped about 10 Km from it and walked a km and a half down it to a dry swamp. Did some calling and sure enough got our second bull measuring 40in. (5pts X 6pts)
Next day 2 of the younger guys went by them selves and nailed a 42in bull (6pts X 7pts)13Km from camp a couple of hundred meteres down an old overgrown road just off the main road.
We came home on Sunday - 3 out of 4 possible big bulls taken and had a great time
