Fishery Notice - Fisheries and Oceans Canada

Subject: FN0732-RECREATIONAL - All Fin Fish: Region 1 - Big Qualicum River - Salmon Opportunities

Effective 00:01 hours October 1, 2009 to 23:59 hours November 30, 2009 there
will be a finfish closure from dusk till dawn (1 hour after sunset and 1 hour
before sunrise) from the hatchery counting fence downstream to the Qualicum
First Nation Reserve boundary.

Note: The Qualicum First Nations prohibit all unauthorized access on reserve
lands including the river bottom. Please respect their request.

This “night fishing closure” would lead into the December 1 – June 15 closure
from the E&N Railway bridge downstream.
