    Default Nitinat Saturday from Nanaimo

I'm heading to the Nitinat on Saturday the 12th for the day. Leaving North Nanaimo around 5:30 to 6AM heading down via Duncan then over from there.

PM me if you want to hitch a ride. I have room for 2 or 3. Riding in a Chev blazer 4x4.

Include your address and phone number. Last check for PM's will be around 10PM and I'll try to call you before 11PM tonight. Sorry for the short notice.

    Ben

If you have a good trip and plan to do another give me just a little more heads up and I can work the time off.
I won't be able to make this trip cause I have to work tomorrow, but like I said if you plan another let me know.
Also week days generally work better for me, but it can often still be arranged for weekends if I have 2-3 days notice.

I'm with Islander. A little bit of notice and I could do it. Weekends are preferred for me. Unfortunately I'm flying to Halifax tomorrow for a week and can't go this time.
Fly fishing is not only a method to catch fish, but a state of mind.

Tomorrow won't work for me... already signed on to go surfing. Keep me posted and perhaps we can hook up on the way over and I'll bring the drift boat...water might be a little skinny yet. I haven't been over to see just how much rain they had there and I'm not into dragging 500 lbs. down to the lake.

Ya sorry for the short notice there guys. I just got "permission" to take the truck on Saturday instead of Sunday, and as a student, I'll not have any weekdays off, but will give more notice for October when I will make some more trips chasing the remnance of the springs and the incoming dogs and ho's.

    Sun burn

I'm a fool - it hadnt rained in 5+ days, so that water was lower than the week before! I shoulda known it would be a bust out at the Nitinat but I had a touch of "buck feever" and was keen to bonk a spring. Lots and lots of other people with the same feever - likely 60+ people on the river, and no fish bonked. Apparently a school went up sometime between Monday and Wednesday, and the rest are still in the lake.

If I'd been wiser, I'd have headed over to the stamp instead.

Not sure what I'll be up to this coming weekend. My dad is in town, so I'll be out on Saturday and possibly early Sunday, likely on the stamp or on the east side of the island someplace close.
