Have a real hard time beating a stimulator. Yellow/orange is a great starter, followed by olive/chartreuse. I always have a bunch on me when I'm wading a river.

Anybody have a favourite dry stonefly pattern they would like to share.
I happen to love a Mikulak sedge tied on a long shank hook.
When I was guiding up on the Babine it was, and still is, the bomb.
Although up there you will hear it called "The Freddie"
Great for steelhead as well.
My favourite colours are rear 2/3 fiery brown front 1/3 sulphury yellow.
" " " " " " Salmon Orange.
Another good one is a heather mixture, olive
orange
brown
yellow
Sometimes a bit of red is good as well.
I almost always use a natural brown saddle. Furnace would be # 2.

Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley. ~Author Unknown
I agree with Professori I like to carry plenty of elk hair stimulators with yellow bodies and orange heads. They float great in the fast water and when you skate them across the water they create a big wakr that always seems to get the fish going.
Thanks

Well I told you it was my favourite.
My wife and I were up at the Babine at the end of July.
I actually wore the bronze off two " Freddies " one day.
As the got waterlogged i would switch them out and dry and re-dress them.
Best day ever on dries.
I seem to have lost the pics.
I will have a look around and post as soon as I find them.

There won't be any photos.
I lost them when my computer crashed.
Maybe next time.
