    Default Campbell Tuesday

I'm driving up from Nanaimo - leaving nanaimo at 5am from North Nanaimo and hoping to be on the water at the Island Pools by 7:30 and fish all day, trying to be back in Nanaimo by around 8pm-ish

If any one wants to pool up on this one PM me before 11PM tonight with your phone number and location and I can pick you up.

I'll be fishing the flyfishing only section of the river, but if you just want a ride up and back for a day's fishing and want to hit the lower sections of the river, that can be arranged also.

I'd also be interested in meeting someone who knows a bit about the summer runs in that river. I'll be bringing both my spey and single hander.

11th, if you are around in the late afternoon, I'll keep my eyes open.

Just cleared it with the DFO (Domestic Fisheries Oblocutor). I'll be up around 4:30

Sounds good. I usually take a food break around 4pm and I plan to park up at the power station parking lot, so I'll likely be back up at the top end of the fly fishing only section by then.

I'll be using my single hander in the afternoon, likely high sticking it with my shaggy version of that fly you showed me. I put a bead head on it because I got frustrated with wrapping lead wire that kept breaking.

Look for an "outback" style wide brimmed hat and a William Joseph backpack/chestpack.

I hope it isnt too hot or sunny tomorrow.

Hey guys! Curious as to how you both fared? Were either of you successful in your quest for steel in the Campbell?

    Two things.

    1. I don't specifically target steel.

    2. I now suffer from ICRS (I can't remember sh*t)

I completely forgot I was supposed to head up there Tues and instead ended up having a date night with the wife.

I wasnt successful for steel, but plenty of Pinks in the upper section, and the Springs are in the lower pools.

    btree and 11 Warrior,
Thanx for the feedback, guys. It's rare that I head up that far unless I'm going to camp out for a few days. I hear rumours of summer steel in the Campbell, but never when I've been washing flies there... guess they're my 'Moby Dick'.

Well, they're not rumours. I've seen them caught and actually seen them swim right by me, but I've never caught one. Maybe someday.
