    Default Let The Games Begin

Well bow season started here yesterday and no one I talked to had any success. All the guys I work with are hunters which makes the information highway so handy. I've been scouting an abandoned oil lease 3 km from my work and the game trail around the waterhole at the back of the lease is three feet wide and loaded with moose and elk tracks so hopefully it's just a matter of time. How about you? Been out scouting? See any amazing specimens?

I was suposed to be out practising this spring so i could bow hunt this year but ahh well that didnt happen got to busy with work and family. I will just stick with the rifle this year. I know people that hunt with a bow and they love it. U get to start earlier than others and its more of a challenge thats why i want to get into it. I have an older compound bow. Its an ol bear. Works great and is powerful. good enough to start.

    Default Huntin

    Haven't been out myself John.
But my two homies have a few that they are watching and I am invited so I might get a poke at something with the Excalibur!
First year I am going to use the crossbow and I am quite stoked to say the least.
Since sundays are my only option, I am off to get my camper from Lumby so I can take off saturday evening and be where I need to be at first light.
Now if I only knew where I needed to be.

Went out this morning and was playing headgames with a cow elk by way of the Hoochie Mama when all of a sudden a couple bulls started bugling in response a km away. Also saw my first bull moose rub of the season. Gotta love this time of year!

I nailed a couple grouse with my bow on opening day this year, also stuck a bear with it too. Pass thru with no blood on the arrow, no blood trail. Nothing. Just hair on the broadhead. How does that happen!?
