Sippin' suds...sippin' scuds...
Sure. The ice is off my tequila. I think I'll enjoy it until real fishing starts.

Te-kill-ya? Never heard of it.
Strip me, whip me, tie me, fly me.
Can't wait wait much longer...., going to have to smash through the ice pretty soon. Does any one know which lakes usually unthaw first, aside from the big ones like stump and nicola?

I had to go to Vernon this weekend and was able to get a look at a few lakes on the way there and back, The only open still water I saw was Nicola Lake and Shuswap Salmon Arm. All the other lakes I passed (Monte, Stump, Shumway, Swan, Trapp, etc.) all lookedlike they were about 2 weeks from break up. The ice looked pretty rotten on most with some water right at shore on many. Strangely enough I saw two peoble ice fishing on Stump even tho' the ice looked kind of sketchy to me. The north end of Nicola was also very iffy looking ice as I drove by, but there were about 8 folks out on it fishing. One kid was even getting Dad to take a picture of him holding a nice trout (looked about 20 inches long from my vantage point.) About a mile further down the road the lake was completely ice free. Guess it was the last day of spring break, sunny and everyone figured they would give ice fishing one last shot. Anyhow I expect the lower level lakes will be opening up soon. I was told (I didn't see it myself) that White Lake is ice free and guys are fishing it.
