Fishing Report for August 12, 2009
The cool weather we have had for the last few days combined with the shorter days has picked the fishing up.
The flavor of the week at Harmon has been a pink and white Lyman plug trolled slowish and deepish.
Good ‘Ol dependable Lundbom is still giving up fish on chironamids fished deep.
For those of us who like to drag a little hardware, an orange flatfish with black spots works well according to our insider source.
Pennask is putting out trout on chironamids. Assorted colours are working.
Yellow is the shade of choice up at Helmer lake. Apparently it didn’t matter what fly as long as it had yellow.
Dark Spratley type flies trolled at Bob lake were doing the trick.
Apparently the chap at Hathheume who had the Kelly’s Searcher was having a great time catching lots of trout while others weren’t so lucky. It’s nice to share!
If you like big fish, the sturgeon have been biting in the Fraser. Fish upwards of 6 feet, yes feet, are not uncommon. Strap me in!
And as always till next week, keep your tip up.

Didn't think anyone still fished Helmer! Great moose habitat if you know what I'm saying, Fred!!
