My wife and have camped up at the third lake a few times it really nice up there but I think you may only find fish in the first and second lower lakes. The upper lake is turquoise glacier melt and extremely cold. I remember seeing fish rise on the first lake but I didn't pack a rod in so I never fished. Let me know how it goes.

From everything I've heard the fish in those lakes are very plentiful and very small.

It sounds like Lake Louise. Glacier fed lake, crystal blue, lots of fish and all of them about 9" long. I hope, for your case, that's not true.

it was beautiful hike..and got my first rainbow trout with my fly.

I actually caught two from mid lake...
one about 10" another one 7"..

Met another guy while hike up..and told that he caught 6 trouts.
Saw another flyfisher while I was fishing..caught plenty of fish too..

Lot of fish were rising at south side of lake about 9am~11am..and stopped..
