Fishing Report for June 24, 2009
It has been a very busy week for us here at the shop.
I have a few reports for you though.
Good ‘Ol Nicola lake continues to produce nice catches of trout and kokanee.
The anglers in the know have been digging out the classic cut plug type lures and are getting the good ones. Kokanee continue to bite well. Snubbers are a good idea as several folks have told me they are losing half of their biters.
Paska lake is full of san size rainbows and would be a great choice for the kids or a fish fry. They apparently are hungry for just about everything.
Leighton is fishing well with Bomber chironamids in Olive, reddish and black. The Doc Spratley and and black leeches are the ticket as well.
Morgan is experiencing an algae bloom but is fishing O.K.
Edith lake put out a 7 lber from the shore for a lucky angler. We could not find out the secret fly though.
It is almost time for the Traveler Sedges to start popping all over. This can be some of the most exciting fishing for the year. Even the big boys come up to eat these.
Better have a few California Blondes, Tom Thumbs or other sedge patterns in your box.
It sounds like all the kids at the Fathers Day fishing event had a blast. Thanks to Nicola Valley Fish and Wildlife for hosting.
I also had a report from a good friend and hot rod, CSG, that the “T” is high but fishing for rainbows. Time to hook up the river boat and get out there.
Until next week, keep your tip up.
