Default Big OK ,Roche - Current Conditions

    Hi,

I am planning trip from south of the border (Seattle area) and am hoping for a little direction. I have not fished in BC before. I would like to drive up, get in a couple of days of lake fishing and drive back. I would be camping at the lake.

I researched various BC lakes on the internet and picked up a couple of “Fishing Mapbooks”, SW BC and Kootenai, Okanagan.

I picked some the larger name lakes that came up, Pass, Roche, & Big OK. You gotta start somewhere. These lakes have enough elevation so that the water temp. shouldn’t be too high.

I read through some of the earlier postings about the Pass Lake winter kill. The was also a post about Roche and Big OK early this month. Any current information would be appreciated. Other suggestions on lakes would be appreciated as well.

    Thanks,

    Woody (aka) Mike

From the reports that I have had, higher elevation lakes in the Logan Lake region have been fishing quite well, I would base camp at Tunkwa or Leighton and do a day trip into a few higher elevation lakes in that area.

Stop in at ******** fly and Tackle in Logan Lake or at the Whatcom exit in Abby after you cross the border and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Roche has been fishing well but it has been a zoo, from what I have heard.

    Welcome!
As D said, Roche is fishing good but lotand lots of people.
Island ( Big ok) slowed down for my friends but its a good bet.
If just for Cupple of days from US, I suggest to hit Tunkwa, Leighton they usualy do well in summer with bombers!

Thanks for the input. I will be sure to stop at either ******** fly and Tackle in Logan Lake or at the Whatcom exit in Abbotsford on my drive up.
