i have but i fished it at the end of sept last year. didnt get anything but didnt do alot of research before i went.

it was difficult to find as there are private properties surrounding it. had to ask permission to use a persons dock to enter the water.

i would suggest looking at the go fish bc lake guide i think they have a blurb on it in there.

a buddy of mine caught a nice 3-4 lbs rainbow there last year.....

a couple km up the road is another lake called mosquito lake and apparently thats a pretty good lake too. its hike in only access about 500 m.

id go again it was pretty up there and im sure with a little bit more research youd get into some fish.

    best of luck

It has been about six years since i last fished Ivey, a great little catch'n release lake. The fishing can be great in April & into May but it warms quickly & slows after that until fall. It gets hit pretty hard by local fly anglers so the larger trout can be hard to fool, but you can get the odd fish up to 4-5lbs.It should be called Horseshoe, you'll see why when you fish it & have to walk down the trail with your float-tube & have to kick all the way around to the other side to reach the fish.

Ivey can be moody, but there are good fish to be found. More large fish are taken on Chironomids than other flies, (by me anyway). Expect to work pretty hard for the bigger fish.
Yes, it does warm up so release them quickly. Heading up there tomorrow, hopefully the weather won't put them off.

    Thanks guys,

I was up there a couple of years ago with a girlfriend but haven't been up there since (drove by a couple of times though)... I didn't get a chance to fish the lake since there wasn't really any place to camp there (the girl I was with wanted to go to someplace with showers after spending the night at Callahagn Lake)... Looks like sometime in Sept./Oct. might be the best time to take a trip up there, seeing as it'll probably start to warm up pretty soon I definately won't be up there next weekend...

It sounds like a 10lb rainbow might be pretty hard to come by on that lake, but a couple of 4-5lbers on 6wt would definately make for a good day...

Let us know how it went Beeswax (if you ended up going).

p.s. I think there's one "public" access point zugger... To the best of my recollection there's a large open area off the main road up there (the one that branches off the road up to D'Arcy around Owl Creek--or whatever it's called), and at the northend of this area there is a short trail (about 100-200m) that goes through to forest, to the lake "shore." You can proably launch a small boat (e.g. float tube) through the trees, but watch out for the water snakes

I worked it really hard for a long time, but had great rewards at the end. Personally I've had better fishing after midday. But that's not the same for others who fish there.
the GoFishBC guide at http://www.gofishbc.com/r2guide.htm will give you all the info you need. Access is off Reid rd, as suggested below.
