Alternatives to Lead wire?

Any alternatives to lead wire? Lead is an environmental nightmare, and although a few lost flies won't have the same effect that tons of birdshot have on a lake, I would like to avoid it if possible.

Any help is appreciated as always.

If you don't like lead, go with tungsten.

You can also purchase bio-degradable putty that you can roll onto your leader knots.It tends to fall off after awhile though.
