where are you located Geoffvl ?
I have the Rio modern spey casting 3dvd set. it covers loads of stuff and i would recommend it. I could lend it to you if your close by as i have watched it twice already![]()

Does anyone recommend any spey casting videos? Is spey to z a good one. Any focus lots on skagit style casting because thats probably the most used one in BC.
Also if anyone has any sitting on a shelf they wouldn't mind lending send me a pm.

I like the Spey to Z one, the guy compares skagit casting to a beer truck! Good info on the single handed spey casting as well. I've also watched the Rio ones and they are very good as well.
For Skagit casting there is nothing better than Ed Ward's Skagit Master. When I was learning skagit casting I applied traditional spey techniques which made for a nasty cast. After Skagit Master I finally understood how effortless Skagit casting is. The stress that has come off my worn out shoulder has extended my flyfishing for at least another decade.

I have the "Spey to Z" also, I found it a great help. Gonna try some of the casts on my single-handers as well.

Spey to Z and Rio Modern spey are great instructional videos but I find them a little dull, Dec Hogan Modern Spey is great and so is Skagit Master. Perfect cast with Mortenson is very good if you can get over the barbed hooks and fish handling.
I find a video needs to have on water fishing footage as well as pure casting instruction to hold my interest.
