    Sorry guys a little late on this one!! This months Fly O' the Month Will be a Sculpin pattern, of the fresh or saltwater variety!!

    these are tricky but very fun to tie and slay any carnivourus type of fish which is almost all of them.

    I tried a Marabou Muddler and an Olive Matuka tonight in an attempt to tie a sculpin......

    ....

    that doesn't look like the picture.....

    I don't tie a whole lot of sculpin patterns but I did find one that I like. It's a whoolhead sculpin streamer to imitate larger sculpin on the surf. The first picture is the sculpin before being marked up with a pen and the second one is a different pattern with some flash but it shows what the first looks like after I mark them up with markers.
    The hooks ride up so that you can drag it on the bottom with short twitching strips and pauses.

    Nice job WB, great looking flies!! Im heading to the Kitimat river tomorrow for a weekend fish, will post a couple of my Pitt River Sculpin patterns when I get back!! Keep them coming guys!!

    So here is a reasonable facsimile of an Olive Matuka, which according to my books represents some type of fish, including the sculpin.

    Need a bit more practice with the Marabou Muddler.....

    I find the easiest way is to upload them to Photobucket.com and then add the link to them from this site by clicking on the picture with the mountain and the sun on it on the reply section.
