    Default Island Trout Fishing

    Trout fishing on the Island is at it's peak...both Salt Water and in the Streams.
    Get out and have some good times...
    Pink Salmon are about 6 weeks away..will keep you posted
    Val and I went out after we closed the store a 5,ordered a Pizza and then had a blast...a few chops but nothing serious..

    That is a nice cutthroat you picked up there well done!
    I've been seeing them jumping around the beaches recently and been itching to get out again, should get a chance some time next week.

    The Cuttie fishing has been very good all along the beach area in these parts. Some fish in the 24" have been landed(not by me yet) and there seems to be a good number of them around. The folks at Vancouver Island University and the co-operation between the provincial and federal counterparts have put in place a program to not only re-build the stocks but to do a scientific study of the habits of Cutties and their range. These fish travel long distances ,likely following the fry...
    BUT the good news is that these fish love DRY FLIES!! They love 'em!!!

    those are beautiful cutties and i cant wait for the pinks to come just to easy to catch

    Now the dry fly season is here toooo...
    There has been a few Pinks seen so far...likely about the 15th of July and yes we get annual runs here on the East Side of the Island.
