Did you get my PM about the Environmental Technology Program at Camosun?

Hi there all,
I'm looking at going back to school to take either a Fisheries Diploma or a Forestry Diploma.
My goal is to get into either Conservation and Habitat stuff, or Compliance and Enforcement. I dont mind working for either government or the private sector, but I'd like to be about 50/50 field to office work for the first while and certainly have full time instead of seasonal work.
I'd also like to be involved in water use, watershed management or fish/water/wildlife related stuff.
I'm just concerned that despite the retirement crunch that there might not be a job for me right out of school no matter which of the two I do.
I've emailed the people in both program options to which I've been accepted about job prospects and of course both paint a rosy picture. Waiting for some feedback from Stantec and a couple other big firms on what their advice would be.
Basically I'm leaning towards fisheries, but am really worried that I'll be stuck chasing seasonal contracts for a few years and I dont want that at all! I also have seen some postings that seem water use/fish/watershed related that want people with a forestry background and not a fisheries background...
I want to have my options open. If I went into Forestry, I'd go silviculture and try to slide my way into stuff around water quality and fish and wildlife related stuff...
any who. If anyone has a crystal ball or some insider news to share that would be great.
thanks

Yes! thanks, it sounds much like what I'm interested in.
I'm going to look into applying late and see if there is room for me.
