ok, found it! Nice tie there. I also like the red throated soft hackle - not sure what it imitates, but it looks good.

Ok, taking off from Rick's post at the end of the pumpkinhead thread
What's a wonder bug?
I'm about to take a sneak peak at johnk's profile and photos to see what innovations he has hiding there...

The Wonderbug is a chronimid that johnk tyes using golden wonder bread bag material. You will find it in the pattern section under stillwater trout , subsection chronimids.

Yep, as noted in my second post, I had found it, and it certainly looks deadly. Very ingenious use of materials as well
The wonderbug is tied with white wonderbread bag material (kind of a gunmetal colour) and was developed by johnk. The Golden Wonder is tied with whole wheat wonderbread material. It is a pattern I developed, inspired by John's wonderbug and by the golden chironomids I first saw at Sheridan Lake and have since seen elsewhere.

NIce work there Prof. I like it.
For those of my Dad's generation, perhaps you could find a way to tie an emerger version called the "Wonder Dog" using dog hair
I'll have to tie up a few wonder bugs and golden wonder bugs
Thanks
that's a damn fine idea there johnk
