Kootenay region in August?

Will be taking a trip to visit family the last week of August - they live right at the northern tip of Kootenay Lake. Does anyone know of some small float tube lake in the area, or even some productive rivers (not in the float tube)?

I am hoping that we can borrow or rent a boat to fish Kootenay Lake with, but that is not for certain as of yet.

Check out fishwizard... its a really cool site where you can explore any lake/river in BC. When you zoom in you can click on the body of water, and it will tell you what kind of fish reside and for lakes sometimes even the stocking information. Explore that site for the lakes around that area, find what fish are where, and do some fishing. I havent done any fishing towards the north end of Kootenay lake.
