Thank you for the welcome Rick. I am a life time single hand flyfisherman, recently leaning towards working out some spey skills. I am from Alberta, 5 minute drive from the Bow. Although I really enjoy fishing my local waters and do so 3-4 times weekly when I can, my passion the past couple of years has been towards steelhead swinging (hence the tag). I went on a 10 day trip to Telkwa a couple years ago, landed a few steelhead on the fly, lost the one that got away (massive of course) and have been absolutely obssessed ever since. My love of fly fishing and just being around and learning about fish in general has lead me to a career as a fisheries biologist. Unfortunately, this actually leads me away from my fly rod much of the summer season lately, due to field work, it tends to leave me with a nice window for october steelheading and a nice long winter season (spent 3 weeks camping on various rivers in lower mainland and van isl last feb-march but with minimal success). Anyhow, thats about it, just thought this forum would be a great chanve to learn and share with other passionate fishermen. Cheers.
