hey btree,you say your not trying to be a jerk. you say the rules have been broken. where do you see bossman asking for a handout (pre paying it forward )so to speak. if my fly box was empty and i was offered free flies i would certainly jump all over it. this forum is about community and helping fellow fishers out who are trying to learn. we need newbies who make us stronger as a whole.rules, what a joke

Okie dokie... I was just saying what the post at the top said we should do. I'm certianly not in charge of this forum - like I said - in the end it's up to the giver more than anything.

I have no problems, but it's just what has been established and I was reflecting that.

Perhaps if you think that the "rules" are a joke, you could talk to the guy who wrote them. Perhaps I overstepped my bounds by saying what I did back then about rules and what not. Certainly I am no referee...my bad.

This need not be some drawn out battle over "rules" but I joined the forum, read the expectations and will abide by them respectfully. I feel that the spirit of my engagement in this forum has certainly been a good example of encouraging new members who have questions, sharing ideas, giving out flies, participating in swaps and generally doing good stuff that helps us all out, so I agree, the more we are all doing this sort of thing the better.

At any rate, I've been quite encouraging all round to Thebossman in a couple other threads and we've peacefully PM'd about me sending him some flies.

I didnt mean to come off as some zealot. Just trying to respect the spirit forum in general as posted by the moderator guys.

hey btree; i shouldn't question your spirit in contributing to this forum. your wording tells me you have a good heart..didn't mean to offend you but rules are stupid at times. but, i dont think sitting on the sidelines makes this a better forum .we are all entitled to our opinions which makes for a better forum in general. bossman might need a bigger fly box after all is said and done so i guess bossman is the real winner .but i wouldn't want it any other way.peace to all you buggers

I was going to poke the bear and ask what was happening with Chauncies flies since it seemed that he was kinda getting left out of the debate I didn't even realize that other people were offering up other flies for free too until this whole thing blew up (sorry CHICO and others)

ahhh well.

Catch some big ones this weekend boys and girls. I'll be stuck at home packing for a move.

Wow! Bossman sure picked a great time to be online! Someone should send Chauchey a flyrod as well; he's the one that started this outpouring of goodwill.
