Hey I live in Kelowna and wanting to meet people to go fishing with..
Thank you for the heads up lol it will be good I can trust that
Can not beleive there is no one from Kelowna on site ... Just wondering if anyone knows how the lakes are doing and where are you hiding..
I'm sure there are a few ppl from the okanogan/boundary area.
I began my fishing in Midway BC, a couple hours south past big white ski hill. Lots of great little lakes in the shadow of big white. It's been a while, but if you get a forestry map, or a back roads BC map, you should be able to spot "Cup Lake" - that's a good base camp. Decent fishing there for pan fry sized fish. It's well stocked and a well used camp site (often packed on long weekends) but there are lots of great fishing lakes around there you can drive to, or quad to, but the walk in ones are the best. Any lake in the Beaverdell area that you have to walk to will have great fishing. Troll around with a green or black spratley in size 10, 8 or 6 till you get into fish, then anchor and cast your favourite patterns either on the surface or sinking.
What ever you do don't go over towards Merritt or Kamloops, the fishing is terrible over therehehehehe....I'm lying of course. It's a bit of a Mecca for trophy fish.
Heading over towards Lumby (east of Vernon) there are more great lakes and streams...but I've only treeplanted out there and swam in the lakes. Lots of fish jumping but I didnt try any casts.
You are in a great area for fishing - quite central, but you will have to drive a couple hours to get out of the rat race and away from the jet skis.
You should be able to find people to fish with.
Keep posting and asking questions.
If I were down south, I'd offer, but I'm up in Fort St. John
Thanks for some info that will be great to go somewhere know that I have a idea on where to go.. I guess I will have to go out and check the area out..
