    Default Fly for Spring salmon

I am no expert for tying fly so better to ask pros here.
Looking for patterns for spring salmon in ocean.
I am not asking for secret but if you can let me know on general size and color.
    Thank you!

I've heard that the Hakai Thorn or Silver Thorn or Tonkin Thorn (I think these names all refer to the same fly) can be good for salmon in general in the salt...

Check the photo posts for fly patterns here, there should be an example of one somewhere

the silver and hokai thorn are very close just the hokai has a wing of pink bucktail or polar bear, where as the silver thorn is a body of silver chenile and silver mylar tubing tail, or another variation has peacock sword for the tail and wing and some red wool for the gills, for the thorns the sizes can range from size#1/0 to 6, i dont fish springs that much in the salt as id rather cathc alot of pinks and coho's then just one monster but that is what barry thorton uses, most of that info is from his book "saltwater flyfishing for pacific salmon"
    hope that helps

ps. you could also try skip fly bucktailing but i dont know how effective that would be for springs, but it works for coho

    Thank you for tips!
I will try a few patterns this upcoming season.
I was once told Orange works good for Spring salmon?
Any comments on colour? I was thinking silver would be better just like in thorn pattern.
