    Default Barred Matuka Leech on a weighted tube

    Tied this fly on Saturday waiting to go lake fishing for some nice trout...
    Big Trout like Big Flies!
    Here's' the fly and the trout...have ben sick as a dog fighting off this cold/Flu but had to get out!!

    What I can tell you is that I am very fast becoming a Tube fly fisher...in almost all situations...the only situation I haven't really tried is with dry flies but the conditions will soon be upon us and we shall see.

    PS...fighting the fish with a small hook has many advantages....and with tubes you can place your hook where you want it.

    I must say, those are some nice fish. The one in your 2nd post looks to be about 6lbs? (although it might just be the angle the pic was taken).

    Man...what a winter...Spring isn't much better either..However,there are some very nice Sea Run Cutthroat trout pounding on all the Pink Salmon fry leaving the streams...a fellow brought in a picture last week of a cuttie he landed off Nile Creek that measured near 24"...yahoo!

    The tides are almost perfect for me to drop along the beaches on the way home from the store and play a bit...we just went through the full moon and that usually means many fish begin to move ...a change in the season/...perhaps
