Just make sure you use heavy tippett and thicker wire hooks. My friend has a cabin up there and we go for a week every summer and I've had a lot of lunkers break off or straighten the hook! Good times!
Be prepared to work hard for your fish though!

Hey All:
I would love to hear some stories of Sheridan Lake...we will be heading up around the area for 4 days starting this Thursday and am wondering if all this hype is for real...there a lot of great lakes in the area and would love to hear some stories of the epic battles on Sherdian or any of the surrounding lakes...thanks Guys! happy fishing. Don't get too excited. Sheridan can be a very tough lake to fish. It is very technical, meaning the fish are pretty smart. This early in the year nothing will be hatching as of yet, so your best bet would be with leeches and scuds. I'm waiting until late June to go to Sheridan when the chronis and mayflies should start to come off. Let us know how you make out.

Todd,
Give up on the Chataway idea? I'm not very experienced with Sheridan but I do sell flies to a couple guys who are regulars there. Try fishing leeches under an indicator parallel to structure. That seems to be an effective method that yields good results.
thanks guys.
Johnk: Chataway still has ice on it and apparently it was -6 with flurries the other night...thought we'd have better luck up around Sheridan. We may try Sheridan, however, i have read some good reports on Bowers, Lorin and Howard...among others. Last minutes advice and tips would be greatly appreciated! For thise heading out this weekend HAPPY FISHING![]()
I have never used an indicator on fly line, where do you tie it on? Sorry if this sounds stupid, but i really don't know.

Hey there A.R. welcome to ffbc. You slide the indicator on your leader, tippet before attaching your fly. Then you set the indicator so it suspends your fly at he desired depth. I like to use the Phil Rowly indicator. That way if you need to undo it to land your fish you don't lose the pieces, they just slide on the line. After you land your fish just reset your depth and you're ready to go again.

The Phil Rowley indicator???? What's that? I'm really interested.

hey there gfly. the indicators that I'm referring to have a hollow tapered tube that the line threads through the middle of as well as through the indicator. very simple to use, pretty sure you would understad when you see one. Just about any fishing shop should have them, although they might go by a different name. You will usually find them in either floresent yellow or orange.
