Default Hwy 20 - Bills Puddle to Anahim

    Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had information on the lakes north and south of Hwy 20 in the Chilcotin?

Looking for any ice-off reports and/or road conditions (snow still?), on anything and everything you know about the lakes between Bills Puddle and say Anahim?

Specific lakes I'm interested in include (but are not limited to): Horn/Sapeye/Bluff, Cochin, Big Stick, Miner, Clearwater, Fletcher, Kloakut, Raven, Palmer, Kappan, Hotnarko, etc.

Annual fishing trip in 2 and a half weeks and would love to know what we're in for.

Oh, 4x4 access is just fine, and actually preferred. Smaller, "off the beaten path" lakes are ideal. Feel free to PM with any suggestions or ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

for may long last year we hit Raven and Palmer. the roads were all great, no snow either. Only thing was that the lakes were fully covered with ice. However, the whole laked melted and was ice free buy the time we got out there in the afternoon of the next day. Had succes at both lakes trolling, casting and on the fly.

    Thanks Zachary,

Any word on what the last few km's into Palmer are like? Can you get a tent trailer in there these days?

you shouldnt have an issue getting a camper in there. That forestry road was in excellent condition the last time i was there. At the time it was a heavily used road by logging trucks so the only thing you have to worry about is getting run off the road by an irate trucker. other than that should be fine.

    Thumbs up

All the lakes from willy's puddle to anahim lake are in great shape. The trout are in full spawn but that's to be expected this time of year.We haven't got much rain so far this spring so the roads are dry.Heck,I just put new mudder tires on my truck and couldn't find a mudhole to try them out . Raven is one of the hotspots at the moment due to the good brookie population. The road into Palmer is dry but there is some deep holes going into the main camping site.If they give you trouble just go to the overflow camping.Logging trucks are a non-issue as it's still breakup and the logging industry here is really hurting. The lakes I seen turn-over last week seem to be clearing up now.June is looking to be a good time to be on the water up here.
