Interior Fishing Report for April 22nd
It is still winter in the hills.
We spoke with the owner of Chataway Lakes lodge and the word is two feet of ice with snow on it.
As of this time the Kane valley lakes are still hard.
Courtney, Lundbom and Marquart are still stiff as well.
Tunkwa is still covered but with open water around the edges now.
Pavillion Lake is close and Crown as well as Allison are off. It looks like another 10 days or so for the majority of the mid elevation lakes.
Just in case you needed it, there is time to tie a few more bugs for the box. Beadhead micro leeches, immature mayflies and damsels should all be on your list.
Stump has produced some very nice fish for those who get out. The north end is fishing best.
Word has it that the big boys are deep and gorging on sculpins. Better get a few muddlers and other streamers.
Dependable Nicola Lake is giving up fish up to a pound and a half or so on the good ole’ dew worm and bobber combo.
Great excuse to take your grandkids or nieces and nephews out for a couple of hours that they will talk about for hours at the next family get together.
