Default 2009 - List of potential winter killed lakes

    Bleeker Lake(partial kill)
    John Frank Lake
    Frisken Lake
    Pass Lake
    Isobel Lake
    Kidd Lake
    Clifford Lake

Any others that people have heard of? I've either heard these lakes had potentialy winter killed from a tackleshop that has a location in Logan Lake, or on the net at various official looking sites. Any confirmation would be great.... The top 3 are heart breaking as I really wanted to fish them the week leading up to the BCFR fishout.

It seems that this year could have a bad winterkill, I was up at Pass lake for a couple of hours on Sunday. There was no signs of life, the loons were following me around as if I had an idea where the fish were. Needless to say, no bites, no fish.

I also spent a day at Leighton Lake, it may have been starting to turn over but I caught nothing and neither did anybody else. I have a fish finder and I didn't see a single blip on the screen. There were a couple of fish jumping here and there.

This could be a very difficult year. I thought ice-off = lots of fish......I put in 12hours on the water this weekend with one strike to show for it....depressing.

i'll be back at it next weekend though

For those who live up near Fort St John, the ponds at the Taylor Golf Course winter killed There were some really nice 14-24 inch rainbows in there, but now are just carcasses on the shore line for the eagles and crows to eat. Even the pond that was aerated killed off.

The ice is still thick in many lakes up here...

I was told that people always say Frisken has winterkill but then it turns out fine. Is this true?
