Default tip landing upstream of head(curved)

when i sometimes finish my forward stroke, the tip and/or leader ends up curved away-upstream of the head. here is an example: river left, no wind, snap t cast, the end of the tip lands curved upstream, not straight. this doesn't always happen but sometimes it happens every cast. is this caused by improper anchor placement(too far upstream) or something else. if it means anything, i am using a skagit system-echo classis 8136 with 530grn NW skagit head(33.5') and 100grn, 14 foot tip.I tried different tips and it didn't make a difference.
thanx for any insite or help,

    Brian

from what i remember in the videos i think this may be caused by over rotating your body, but i could be wrong.

    Hi Brian..
There are actually 4 issues here ; rod tip direction,Speed or power of strokes,Line speed forming loops and rod/hand position during forward stroke ...Simple yet complicated...a very good practice is to tie on bright piece of Marabou or better yet bright yarn ,about 4" long...no hook!...slow down your stroke but make sure you have the rod and line under constant Tension....start with your rod tip pointing downstream at your fly, accelerate your pick-up enough to keep the line under tension, your rod tip must follow a path slightly away from you , once your rod tip reaches 11 o:clock drop your tip a foot or so(under tension) and complete the final segment of the Snap Cast, follow the same path as your pick-up but with power, and definitely make sure your rod tip ends up at exactly the same place as it started. In essence you have created a Missile shape loop with your line, the fly will land exactly where it needs to be and you are ready for your final set-up of Sweep the rod tip either parallel to the water about 2' off the surface ,accelerating smoothly to your V loop forming move that stays off to the side/safely away, bringing your rod "UP" to the correct position to engage in your forward stroke. All the while knowing where your bright fly is! By bringing your rod "UP" to the proper position you assist the line in staying out of the water and making the final forward stroke efficient, following the 10/2 and 180 degree rules. Take your time..lots of time... if you follow this technique you will see your bright fly actually change direction in the water just as you proceed with your forward stroke..
    Good Luck
    C
AS you get better you will identify with the final stroke as being almost exact for all your change of direction casts..and your leader lands straight, unless the fly is too heavy!
PS...I am off to England for the next 2 weeks ....keep at it

    Default thanx for the tips.

thanx alot for the help salar. enjoy you rtrip. I did some more video watching last night and tried some casts this morning and i realized that part of my problem is rolling the shoulder on the forward cast.
    thanx again,
    Brian
