Went to spey day yesterday with my wife and son. I didn't get to listen to any guys talks because I didn't have much time. There was lots of people there and the burgers were good. I got to try out a 15' loomis greased line rod. I thought I was a natural but that's just me.
I don't know much about spey rods and lines so correct me if I'm wrong. The reel had running line I think it's called that's connected to a shooting head which you'd connect to your sink tip. Is that how they're set up? The running line hurt my fingers. The guy said that's the system I'd use on the Fraser for chums. He said I should've had a Loomis Dredger instead of the Greased line rod because that was for dry flies.
What are the full lines called that some guys were using? Do you add sink tips to those also?
I really enjoyed it and would love to get into it but not for a while till I have some cash saved up.
