    Default Thuya Lakes Lodge

Hi All: Just confirmed a June trip into Thuya Lakes Lodge with friends. Has anybody been to this lake? If so, any information on fly selection in mid June would be a big help!

    Thanks!

    Hi Kelly.
I've been to Thuya a few times and had a great time. There are a number of lakes in the immediate vicinity and many have boats on them. These are for the use of the lodge guests. I fished from my belly boat and had success with #16 chironomids tied on TMC 2457's with red and green wire bodies and a gold bead head. I also had good sport on # 10 Michaluk sedges tied on 5262's with a dark olive body.
I was there much later in the season, so honestly I can't say if these flies will work, but it's a start.
When Luke and Darlene owned the lodge Luke told me that I wouldn't catch any fish on a chironomid but I proved him wrong.
Any way, I hope you have a great time and good luck!

    Hi Kelly,
I just checked my photo albums and there is a photo of me in front of one of the cabins on Thuya. It's under bc_speys , album called memories.

    Default Thuya Lakes flies

That area sure brings back many fond family fishing memories. I caught some nice trout on a balsa wood bee pattern over 20 years ago!. Floated high but a bit fragile. Modern foam materials would be more durable. Can fly recommendations that old still be of use? I know that when I go back, I'll try some bees.
Please post a review of your trip. I'd especially like to know about ease of access to the many lakes.
I'd like to take MY family to Thuya and make some new memories.

I will gladly post a review along with lots of pictures. I will certainly try some of the "old patterns" as well. What the heck!

    Default Thuya Lakes Lodge

I just booked a cabin in July. I hope the fishing is as good as it was way back when.
I'll submit a review as well.
