Default Rivers at risk: Bute inlet 17 rivers diverted .... Please read....

Bute Inlet: New Video and Multimedia Page

    http://saveourrivers.ca/video-library-mainmenu-29/327-bute-inlet-multimedia

Save Our Rivers Society is proud to present a new documentary by
Damien Gillis, "Rivers at Risk: Bute Inlet," featuring interviews with
local citizens fighting to protect their treasured watershed - one of
the world's top eco-tourism and sport fishing destinations - footage
from recent highly-charged public meetings about the proposed
mega-project, and high-definition aerial footage of this natural
    wonder on BC's Sunshine Coast.

Save Our Rivers Society urges all British Columbians to watch this
video and forward along - as it not only documents the proposal by
General Electric and Plutonic Power for the biggest private hydro
power project in Canadian history, with massive, irreparable
environmental damage for this delicate ecosystem - but also is a
summary of the whole Campbell private river power program and its many
threats to our environment, economy, democracy, and, ultimately,
    sovereignty.

Watch the video in full or in three short chapters - plus 3 min
    google earth fly-over video:

    Hey Guys and Gals

Please take a little time and check these videos out.

We know what they wanted to do to the Pitt.
We have seen the Ashlu and what a far cry from "green"that is.
The list will go on and on and on.

    How about Bute Inlet?

17 rivers to be diverted 17 FRICKIN RIVERS
428km of transmission lines to be built and erected
    100 BRIDGES to build...ONE HUNDRED BRIDGES..WTF..
265km of roads to be built through our pristine forests.

FOR WHAT?...To export power to the American market and line the pockets of these PRIVATE power co's
Bute Inlet is expected to put 20 billion into the pockets of Plutonic Power.

This is so wrong..Please check out

    Hi

I always thought politicians were self serving and a brick short.
This video and info shows me that the Campbell government and his band of stooges and his big money supporters are off their rockers entirely.
Absolute idiocy , they need one heck of a rude wake up call !

Another off the rocker read from South of the 49.

I've been keeping track of the Bristol Bay developments, not realizing that in my own province a short distance away there was a project whose scope and breadth would leave me stunned.

Thank you for this post. It helped bring awareness where in the past I was not quite as well informed.
I wrote a letter and sent it off this morning in response.

Thanks for the google earth link.
The magnitude of these hydro plans is mind boggling to say the least.
What a way to destroy a province.
Such a hypocritical government here, bragging about The Great Bear Rainforest yesterday and not saying anything about the scope of damage they are planning and letting happen.
The media is not much better by being mostly spoon fed what Campbell and cohorts want the masses to know.

Another email sent. Barry Penner responds personally to emails. Maybe it'll help.
