Does anyone recall an inquiry from a guy from Colorado saying his buddy was denied access to Canada due to an impaired driving conviction?
I was at an outdoor show here in Calgary this weekend and Border Cervices had a booth so I asked about this. I was told anyone from the U.S. with an impaired conviction is denied entry for 5 years. There is however a website they can go to and hopefully get accepted via a rehab program that would allow ebtry if they qualify.
Here is the website: www,cic.gc.ca criminal rehab
Hope this helps.....BJ
I never heard of that issue but am familiar with musicians crossing the border.
As long as the paper work is done ahead of time and the t's are crossed and i's dotted it is usually clear sailing going north.
Going south can be a bit more of a hassle. An inventory of every piece of stuff in our possession too.
It seemed the more bigger act the less hassle regardless of what prior convictions are. ($$$$ ,lawyers)
The bottom acts (garage bands) seem to be put under the microscope even for older minor convictions or acquittals.
